Newcastle / Durham Study Day and Lay Professions

On 16 October, the Newcastle / Durham fraternal group met in person for the first time in over 18 months. At our study day, which we opened up to people from across the North East, we heard talks on:

  • the image of St. Dominic, looking at how he has been depicted since his death 800 years ago
  • the (sometimes contested) history of the Lay Dominicans
  • the whole Dominican family.

At our Mass, Andy and Margaret Doyle made their final profession as Lay Dominicans.

They are pictured here with David Crookes, and fr. Samuel Burke OP, the religious assistant of the fraternal group, and the Mass with Professions is available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_MeTSk6T-8&t=1069s
