On 28 April 2023, the Board of Directors of the Nobel Foundation has appointed a new Chair. Astrid Söderbergh Widding, President of Stockholm University, is assuming the position.

Astrid Söderbergh Widding is Professor of Cinema Studies and President of Stockholm University. Since 1985, she has been a member of the Dominican Lay Fraternity in Stockholm (Vicariate of Dacia, Province of France), In 1991 she published the booklet “The Laity in the Order of Preachers. The lay members of the Dominican Order from the 13th century to modern times” (Cf. Dacia series 2. Dominican Sisters Stockholm 1991).
