Dominicans have always and everywhere had a close involvement in Christian Social Action and in the search for and promotion of Justice and Peace.

Members of the Bristol Fraternity were instrumental in setting up and running the Clifton Refugee Sponsorship Scheme, a group of parishioners associated with Clifton Roman Catholic Cathedral in Bristol who were able to sponsor a family of refugees from the wars in the Middle East.

Within the city of Bristol among many other activities members of the Fraternity have in the past been regularly involved participating in running other projects of social action and engagement, such as the Bristol Street Pastors (streetpastors.org/locations/bristol/) and Emmaus Bristol (www.emmausbristol.org.uk/), the charity that works to help homeless people who wish to turn their lives around.
