This lecture, entitled ‘Las Casas and his World: the Defender of the Indians in Context’, is by Fernando Cervantes, Bristol University. Fernando is also a Lay Dominican, Bristol Fraternity. The lecture was delivered at the Las Casas Institute and is now available on their YouTube channel.
This year’s seminar took place from 17-19 March, at Hinsley Hall in Leeds. The seminar was attended by many branches of the Dominican family – friars, sisters, Lay Dominicans, the Priestly Fraternity, the Secular Institute and Associates. The theme was Being Prophetic: Reading the Signs of the Times and Being a Sign for the Time.
